University of Iowa Hires New Dean of Medicine
Debra A. Schwinn from the University of Washington was tabbed for the new post.

The University of Iowa now has itself a new dean of medicine.
The university announced today that it has hired Debora A. Schwinn, currently the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington, to the postiion of dean of the Carver College of Medicine.
Schwinn’s appointment will be effective Nov. 1, 2012, pending approval by the Board of Regents.

Schwinn replaces former dean Paul Rothmann, who left the University of Iowa to join take the reins at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
