VIDEO: Art and Apparel Store White Rabbit to Open New Location This Summer
The successful Art and Apparel store is expanding for the third time in less than five years. Here is a sneak peek at the progress they're making on the new location, as well as some thoughts from the store's owners on what makes White Rabbit special.
Artists Cortnie Widen and Luke Tweedy started selling locally made crafts, art, apparel, and vintage clothes at a small shop in the Hall Mall in December, 2006. They quickly outgrew that space and have expanded twice recently before finally landing on 112 South Linn Street (formerly Fired Up Iowa City) in downtown Iowa City as their next spot. They are currently undertaking massive renovations to the new space, including a new paint job, new office space, dressing rooms, and refinishing the floors with hopes that they can settle in for a while. They hope to open the new space in early July.
