Watch This: FilmScene's Starlite Cinema Gears Up to Show Films at City Park this Fall
The same people bringing a movie theater to downtown Iowa City will also be showing movies this fall at the Riverside Festival Stage at City Park.

Iowa City will have a new venue to watch movies outdoors this fall.
Iowa City FilmScene, the same organization that is soon, has announced that they are putting on a series of outdoor movie showings this fall at the Riverside Festival Stage at . The series, fitting for an open-air show at night, will be titled Starlite Cinema.
According to a FilmScene news release, the four films (two in September and two in October) will be shown in high definition on a 20-foot wide inflatable screen on the Riverside Stage accompanied 5.1 stereo sound. Food will also be available (pending City Council approval), including beverages, movie concessions, and .

According to the city website, the outdoor theatre, modelled after Globe Theatre in London, has 470 seats available.
"We're excited to offer this fun and dynamic moviegoing experience for Iowa City," FilmScene co-founder Andy Brodie said in the release. "The Festival Stage is such a cool venue, really a perfect fit for Starlite."

"The Blues Brothers" will be followed by three more classic films throughout the fall: Mike Judge's comedic cult hit OFFICE SPACE on September 21; Steven Spielberg's dazzling UFO film CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND on October 12; and Alfred Hitchcock's acclaimed thriller PSYCHO on October 19, which will be followed by a double feature of a classic horror film chosen by popular vote online.
