Why Is John Bolton Described as "Dangerous"? He's a Deranged Hawk
I remember the story of Bolton acting crazy, and I hope you do. He chased a woman in 1994 and I found the story again in the Daily Kos.

Jack Beatty on National Public Radio's "On Point" show Friday morning (3/23/18) described John Bolton, who is replacing fired Gen. Mattis, as "dangerous." He's not only a hawk on Iran and North Korea, he still backs the war in Iraq. No regrets.
Not only is all that true, but the story I remember best about John Bolton proves that he's deranged and very, very aggressive. I found an account of that story on the Daily Kos. Bolton chased Melody Townsel, who worked for a US AID contractor, Black, Manafort, Stone, and Kelly in Kyrgyzstan, down the hall of a Russian hotel, threw things at her, pounded on her door repeatedly while shouting threats, shoved threatening letters under her door until she was afraid to come out of her room. Then he spread malicious and false rumors about her to the U.S. government.

Townsel, who reported directly to Charlie Black, a Republican leader, had just reported the poor performance of the contractor, Black, Manafort, Stone, and Kelly. Apparently John Bolton wasn't happy about it. All of this happened in 1994. Think about the names of the US AID subcontractor: Manafort and Stone. Manafort is Paul J. Manfort. Stone is Roger J. Stone. I've long thought that US AID was a cover for the CIA.
Later, when John Bolton was nominated as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Melody Townsel wrote a letter to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee to describe her horrific story of Bolton's "pathological" actions toward her and to recommend that his nomination be blocked. According to one of Townsel's best friends, who gave the story to the Daily Kos, including Townsel's letter to the Foreign Relations Committee, the committee responded with "a yawn."

Despite that "yawn," Democrats blocked John Bolton's nomination to be U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Then Pres. George W. Bush responded with a recess appointment in August 2005. After a Senate filibuster led by Democrats, including then Sen. Joe Biden (D-Delaware), John Bolton resigned from his temporary appointment as ambassador.
Now Trump has made him National Security Adviser, his third in a little over a year. The first was Michael Flynn, indicted for lying to the FBI about his meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Michael Flynn is allegedly cooperating with the FBI to save his son, Michael G. Flynn. He has allegedly cut off contacts with the Trump team, another indication he is cooperating with the FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
My mother used to say, "In like Flynn" in a reference to womanizing, swashbuckling Australian actor Errol Flynn. Michael Flynn is now out like Dowd, the president's former criminal defense attorney. Trump is now surrounded by hawks (new secretary of state Mike Pompeo, former head of the CIA, and John Bolton) but very few attorneys to defend Trump, his actions, and his minions' actions -- mostly former minions, but a few present (Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and one of his senior advisers, for example).
