A Parade, Community BBQ, Powder Puff Football - And More in Store for Johnston Homecoming Week

Although the big game isn't until Friday evening, homecoming week in Johnston is packed with events.

So, grab your purple and show your school spirit by hitting a few of these fun events.

Monday

• Johnston High School Best Buddies Rock Around the Clock Tailgate - 5 p.m. outside Large Gym. The tailgate is $5 for a burger or hot dog, chips and drink. The event is open to all students and parents.
• JHS Rock Around the Clock - for students at 7 p.m. at Johnston High School baseball stadium. Thirty-nine teams of students (already selected) will compete against each other in fun games!

Thursday

• Homecoming Parade - 6 p.m. along Pioneer Parkway and ends at Johnston High School.
• JHS Homecoming Community BBQ - 7 p.m. at the Johnston High School football stadium. For $5 grab a burger or hot dog, chips and a drink.
• JHS Powder Puff Game - 7:30 p.m. at JHS football stadium. First game is sophomores versus juniors. The winner takes on the senior girls in the second game.

Friday

• JHS Coronation - 7 p.m. at JHS football stadium. Announcement will be made prior to the start of the game.
• Johnston vs. Waukee - 7 p.m. at JHS football stadium.

Saturday

• JHS Homecoming Dance - 8 p.m. in the cafeteria.
