For the contest, children in grades pre-school through high school were invited to share through essays or drawings what the phrase “to be wise with money” means to them. The contest was open to children and grandchildren of Thrivent Financial members. There were five age categories. Panels of Thrivent Financial employees in Minneapolis and Appleton, Wisconsin, selected the top three drawings and top three essays in each age category.
