Are You an Iowa Business? Then You Should Know Patch's Stew Bevis

Introducing the newest member of Patch (and the little bundle he's holding).

One of Patch's goals is to make life ridiculously easy for our communities, and that includes businesses.

To that end, we introduce Stew Bevis, Patch's new Ad Manager for all of Iowa's Patch sites. He comes armed with ridiculously cost-effective advertising deals that should fit most any budget.

To introduce you to Stew, we sat him down and asked him some questions on your behalf:

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Ankeny since I was in the fifth grade and have always had a passion for the town. Some of my family still live there. I graduated from Ankeny in 1993 before going to DMACC in Ankeny to receive my AA degree, before going to Iowa State and graduating with a BS in Marketing and a minor in Accounting. I currently live in the Merle Hay Mall area, which is nice as it's centrally located.

Your experience?

I have an extensive background in advertising sales, mostly with the Des Moines Register, where I sold both their print and online products. I worked there for almost 10 years before moving on to a couple other positions in print advertising sales before making my way to Patch. I absolutely love helping businesses grow with the power of advertising.

What are your personal hobbies/passions?

I love playing and watching sports. I play softball, volleyball, racquetball, tennis, bowling and I bike, run and lift weights. I have done many triathalons and a couple marathons, incuding an Ironman Triathalon in Madison, WI, in 2009. My wife and I enjoy traveling. We also enjoy hosting friends and family for social gatherings.

What are the biggest obstacles you see facing small businesses in the advertising market?

I feel that small businesses sometimes don't believe in advertising mostly because of a misconception they can't afford it or they don't understand how it can grow their business. Advertising is an investment, not an expense, and with our competitive advertising rates, Patch will provide a great return for your small investment.

How do you think you can best help small businesses use Patch effectively?

What I like about Patch is that we have advertising rates that fit all businesses, whether they're a small, sole proprietor or a large business. We have many products that will fit your needs without busting your budget, and I look forward to showing as many businesses as I can about these exciting opportunities.

Who's that new little person in your house?

My wife, Meredith, and I had a baby girl, Hathaway "Hattie" Jane Bevis, a little over a month ago. And, yes, we absolutely love her.

You can reach Stew at Stew.Bevis@patch.com and at 515-321-2031. Get in touch. He'll come out to see you.
