No Charge for Computer Disposal

Computers now being taken at no cost at Metro Hazardous Waste Drop Off

Metro Waste Authority Partners with Goodwill
to Accept Computers at No Cost

Residents can now drop off computers and their accessories at the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off free of charge; however, a $0.50/lb. charge still applies to electronics (televisions, radios and other gadgets you no longer want).

“By partnering with Goodwill’s Dell Reconnect Program, we no longer pay the cost to ship these items for de-manufacturing,” said Judi Mendenhall, Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility manager. “We still encourage residents to recycle computers wherever is most convenient, but many people like the one-stop shop service we have and bring all hazardous items they’ve cleaned out of their house at the same time.”
