Brrrr. Another Cold Night in Johnston Could Freeze Plants
Expect freezing temperatures and patchy frost after 3 a.m. Tuesday and again through mid-morning Wednesday.
If your plants survived the early morning hours without a blanket, don’t be so cavalier heading into the nighttime hours Tuesday.
That’s when Johnston is most vulnerable to sustained freezing temperatures that could nip blooms that are about a month ahead of schedule.
The National Weather Service says central Iowans can expect another cold night Tuesday with temperatures at or near freezing and patchy frost after 3 a.m.
