Burglary Suspects Charged After Police Chase: Johnston Police Reports

July 12

Police were called to a burglary in progress  in the 5600 block of Columbine Drive. Suspects fled and were chased by Johnston and Des Moines police. Officers arrested Joseph Lee Barker, 34, of 1414 Dean Ave., Des Moines, and charged him with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft, eluding police and possession of a schedule III drug. Melissa Ann Haven, 34, of 1517 23rd St., Apt. 4, Des Moines, was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft and possession of a schedule III drug.

Residents in the 4600 block of Northwest 62nd Avenue reported a man who was their roommate stole several personal items from the residence.

July 13

David Aaron Tooman, 40, of 6317 N.W. 94th St., Johnston, was charged with public intoxication after police responded to a report of a man laying in the grass at the intersection of 86th Street and Windsor Parkway.

July 14

A resident in the 5900 block of Greendale Place  reported someone had stolen the tire off his vehicle.
