Cameron Carico Golf Tournament, Celebration of Art in Pastel - And More Around Johnston This weekend

Johnston Volleyball Invitational
The Johnston ninth, 10th and junior varsity teams will participate in a volleyball invitational in Johnston today. The ninth and tenth grade teams play at Johnston High School, while the junior varsity play at the middle school. Games begin at 9 a.m.

Congregation Picnic
The St. James Luteran Church hosts a congregation picnic from 3 to 6 p.m. at the NAPA Valley Common Grounds, 31057 Napa Valley Drive in Waukee.

Cameron Carico Memorial Golf Tournament
The Cameron Carico Memorial Golf Classic aims to raise money for the Cameron Carico +10 Foundation to benefit Iowa Health Student Assistance Programs. The golf classic, which will take place at Bright-Grandview Golf Course in Des Moines, is a four-person scramble with an air horn start at 8 a.m. The entry fee of $65 includes a T-shirt, lunch and 18 holes with a golf cart.

Celebration of Art in Pastel
The Johnston Frame Works store is currently hosting Celebration of Art in Pastel, a show of artwork by women in the Inmate Art Program at the Iowa Correctional Institution of Iowa. The show runs until Oct. 19.
