Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting
The Johnston High School Choir will sing at the Annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting at 5:30 p.m. on the West Side of the State Capitol in Des Moines.

Senior Activities
The senior center at Crown Point Community center hosts bingo at 12:45 p.m.

JHS Basketball
The Johnston High School Basketball teams kickoff the new season tonight. The girls varsity team takes on Des Moines North at 6:15 p.m., followed by the boy's varsity game at 7:45 p.m. both at Johnston High School.

Tangen Home Dinners
Stroll along a lamp-lit boardwalk to the cozy 1875 Tangen House. Sip spiced punch next to the parlor fireplace while a host shares stories of Victorian life. Savor a multiple course meal in the elegant dining room as historical interpreters serve dinner family style. After dinner, gather with fellow guests for lighthearted parlor games, such as a Victorian guessing game or “Hunt the Thimble.” The event is at 6:30 p.m. at Living History Farms.
