ChildServe's Golf FORE! The Kids a Big Success, Rasied Thousands for Children, Services

Golfers swung for the green in the name of kids.

Nearly $50,000 was raised to benefit the chidren and services at ChildServe at the 19th Annual Golf FORE! the Kids tournament.

On Sept. 20, the Talons of Tuscany, a private golf course in Ankeny owned and operated by Albaugh Inc., hosted the tournament on Thursday, Sept. 20 to raise funds benefiting the children and services of ChildServe.

At maximum capacity, 132 golfers enjoyed the greens as nearly $50,000 was raised to benefit the children and services of ChildServe.

These contributions allow ChildServe to provide exceptional, life-enhancing services to the children for whom we care.

“Thanks to our major sponsors, Gabus Automotive Group and American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company, and to our hole sponsors, donors, and the various local businesses who made in-kind donations of prizes, for making this event possible,” said Souzan Karadsheh, associate director of development and community relations at ChildServe. “We are also grateful to Subway of Ankeny and The Machine Shed for providing the day's meals. More than 30 volunteers were involved throughout the day; thank you each for going the extra mile to help host this event."

The tournament is set to take place on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny.
