September 23, 2021

The City of Johnston is a recipient of the Derecho Community Forestry Grant in the amount of $4,999.78. The grant will match funds available for a project in the Beaver Creek Natural Resource Area. On August 10, 2020, a Derecho came through our community, which ruined the tree canopy in many of our public areas and across the City. While the City cannot replace all of the trees taken during the derecho, this grant provides a good starting point.Β
