On June 6, at about 12:15 a.m. Summit Middle School security cameras recorded three males inside the school building.
A janitor at the school first saw the males, but they fled on foot.

According to a report the school administration confirmed there were no events going on at the school at the time and that the three subjects did not have permission to be inside the building.
