Don't Cook Saturday; Head to the Johnston Pancake Breakfast and Spaghetti Lunch

There's plenty of tasty food at Johnston Green Days Saturday. The Johnston Fire Department is flipping flapjacks and the Johnston Police Department will serve up all the spaghetti you can eat.

Don't worry about cooking a meal on Saturday.

Just head to the numerous food events.

Start the day off with the 's annual Pancake Feed.

From 7 to 10 a.m the Johnston Fire Department will serve up pancakes for a free will donation.

The all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast is sponsored by Community State Bank and Walmart.

All proceeds benefit the Johnston Firefighter's Association and their commitment to fire prevention and public awareness.

Breakfast patrons can get a tour of the station and check out all the apparatuses.

For lunch, head to the . Don't worry, you're not in trouble, unless you don't like spaghetti!

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. stop by the station for all-you-can-eat spaghetti and breadsticks served by Johnston Hy-Vee. Coca-Cola beverages, soda and water, will be provided by Atlantic Bottling in Waukee.

The tasty lunch is for a free-will donation, with all proceeds going to Youth Homes of Mid-America.

Work off some of that delicious food at the Public Safety Expo at the police station.

From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. check out the Kid Pix Program, car seat inspections and installations, bicycle registration and a tour of the police station.

For dinner, head to the event food booths at the Green Days tents by the Johnston Public Library.

Enjoy tacos, pizza, barbecue and more until the booths close at 11 p.m.
