Owls, Bones, Video Games Lined Up for June at the Johnston Public Library
There are a number of unique programs for children of all ages at the library.

The is here to help with a plethora of summer activities for Johnston residents of all ages.
While the Dream Big program began in May, it really finds its groove this month.

Summer Reading: Stop by the Youth Services Desk to sign up for the summer reading program. The more you read, the more awesome prizes you can earn. Sign-up is open until July 5, but reading awards may be collected starting June 10.
If I Were A Zoo Keeper: On June 11, join Blank Park Zoo for a program aimed at honing your inner zookeeper. The program includes live animals, lessons about a zookeeper's duties, the care that is needed for each animal and just what it takes to be a zookeeper. The program, which starts at 1 p.m., is for children ages 5 to 11. Registration is required.

S.O.A.R. OWLS: On June 22 at 1 p.m. stop by the library to learn all about owls. Kay Neumann, from the Saving Our Avian Resources raptor recovery and release organization, will bring four live owl species to the program for all ages. No registration is required.
Indiana Bones: On June 27, Indiana Bones entertains with history, archaeology, action adventure and puppetry. The Emmy award-winning storyteller will also talk about myths and legends behind our constellations. The program is for all ages and no registration is required.
For the teens in your household, let them 'Own the Night' with these Johnston Library events in June:
Smash Brothers Brawl Tournament: On June 8, compete for prizes in a Wii Smash Bros. Brawl tournament. Kids in grades six and older can also play Mario Kart, Rock Band and other games. Call the library to register.
Write Now! Creative Writing Workshop: Join author Wendy Delsol to learn how to bring your characters to life in this exciting workshop. The workshop is for grades six and up. Call the library to register.
