Johnston Community BBQ Youth Benefit

Johnston Rotary Club is holding a Community BBQ to benefit Youth Homes of Mid-America. The BBQ will be held Sept 6 from 5-7 P.M. at the Simpson Barn.

Youth Homes of Mid-America, based in Johnston, provides on-campus and off-campus treatment for teenage men who have emotional, behavioral and educational difficulties. They also provide community-based programming for teenage women. All clients are wards of the state of Iowa who were referred to Youth Homes of Mid-America either via the Iowa Department of Human Services or from the Iowa Juvenile Court.

Tickets to the BBQ are $5 per person and may be purchased at the door or by contacting Jim Miles at 515-975-4262 or Martha Kester at 515-864-8914.

The BBQ meal includes a grilled hamburger or cheesburger, potato chips, baked beans, cookie and bottled water, all catered by the Johnston Hy-Vee.
