The Sweet Sounds of Swing Spring Concert

The Fine Arts Department of First Baptist Church will present their annual SWEET SOUNDS OF SWING concert on Sunday, April 1. 

An Ice Cream Social at 2:00 pm in the Narthex will begin the festivities with the concert beginning at 3:00 pm. Art work from the church's first Fine Arts Festival composed by members of First Baptist Church is also on display and available for viewing.


   The popular music of the 1920's-1950's will be presented by a dance orchestra, soloists, and choir under the direction of Ben Holthaus.  Featured composers will include: Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Harold Arlen, and Jerome Kern in arrangements made famous by Frank Sinatra, the Andrews Sisters, Sammy Davis Junior, Jimmy Darin, and Michael Buble. First Baptist Church is located near the intersection of 86th St. and 62nd Avenue in Johnston. The entire event is free to the public.
