Final Reading of Stormwater Utility Ordinance Set For Johnston Council Meeting
The Johnston City Council will discuss a temporary traffic signal at Northwest 100th Street and Northwest 70th Avenue during tonight's work session at 6 p.m.

If all goes according to plan, Johnston residents will see a stormwater utility fee come July 1.
The Johnston City Council is set to approve a third and final reading of the new at tonight's council meeting.
The utility establishes a fee of $4.55 a month, or $54.60 a year, for Johnston residents.

The utility is configured using an average equivalent residential unit. One unit is comprised of 4,000 square feet of solid surface area, including driveways, sheds an other structures on the property.
The storm water utility will function much like other city utilities, such as water, which are billed monthly.

The creation of the utility will provide a dedicated fund for upcoming storm water improvements and construction in the city.
The regular Johnston City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. at .
The council will host a work session at 6 p.m. at city hall.
