Fourteen Johnston High School Marching Band Students Named to All-State Band and Orchestra

The students represent the largest number named to All-State Band and Orchestra in the school's history.

The Johnston High School marching band has plenty to celebrate already this year.

The varsity marching band, made up of 180 members, is the largest in school history.

So far this year, the band has placed second at the Urbandale Marching Invitational, fourth place at Valleyfest and was named Grand Champion of the Waukee Marching Invitational.

The band received a score of 85.7 at the state marching contest, the school's third highest score ever at the competition.

On Saturday, 14 Johnston instrumentalists were named to the All-State Band and Orchestra.

This is the largest instrumental representation ever for Johnston at the All-State Festival.
