Green Days: Johnston Police to Hold Open House and Spaghetti Feed

The police department is teaming up with Johnston Hy-Vee to offer you all the spaghetti you can eat during Green Days.

The Johnston Police Department will join in the Green Days festivities Saturday with its annual department spaghetti feed and a public safety expo.

According to Chief Bill Vaughn, the police department will also offer the Kid Pix ID Program with an identification card and DNA kit, car seat inspections and installations, bicycle registration and collect unwanted ammunition.

Residents may also go on a tour of the Police Station.

The events are set for Saturday, June 15, at the Johnston Police Department, 6221 Merle Hay Road.

Dig into all-you-can-eat spaghetti and breadsticks served by Johnston Hy-Vee from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Coca Cola beverages will be provided by Atlantic Bottling Company of Waukee.

Donations will be accepted with proceeds benefitting Youth Homes of Mid-America.

The Public Safety Expo runs from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. and will feature:

  • Collect Unwanted Ammunition
  • Kid Pix Program
  • Car Seat Inspections and Installations
  • Bicycle Registration
  • Police Station Tours
