When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday along Pioneer Parkway
Why go: Join the crowds to see the annual Green Days Parade.

Why go: As part of Green Days the Johnston Lions Club will have free vision screening for children ages six months to 48 months. Screening results will be sent to the University of Iowa Opthamology Department for diagnosis. A special cameral takes a picture of your child's eye and can detect vision problems early.

The Johnston Public Library will be closed Sunday in recognition of Father's Day.

Why go: Get rid of unwanted or expired ammunition during the Johnston Police Department's collection. Residents can drop off any amount of unwanted ammunition for free with no question asked. Check here for more events at the Johnston Police Department Saturday in conjunction with Green Days!

What: Hubbell Living Home Show
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Crosshaven in Johnston
Why go: Check out the Hubbell Living All American Home Show this weekend. Visit showcase homes built by Dreamscape Homebuilders, Eden Custom Homes, Hubbell Homes and Meadowbrook Builders.
Cost: $5, children under 12 and military personnel free.
