Grimes Wal-Mart in Clear With Infant Formula Being Removed from Some Stores
The Grimes Wal-Mart store does not carry the Enfamil Newborn powdered baby formula being removed voluntarily from stores in the nationwide chain.

Wal-Mart is voluntarily removing Enfamil Newborn powdered baby formula from 3,000 of its stores after a Missouri infant who was fed the product bought from a Wal-Mart died of a rare bacterial infection on Sunday.
The Grimes Walmart store, about five miles from Johnston, does not sell the 11.5-ounce container of the Enfamil formula being recalled, said store manager Arch Allison.
"We only carry the 30-ounce container, so we don't have any to pull," he said. "We have received calls from customers that purchased the formula at other stores. We've told them to go ahead and bring it back here and we'll give them a refund."
The Lebanon Daily Record reports that the investigation continues into the death of 10-day old Avery Cornett, from a bacterial disease known as Cronobacter sakazakii, which can sometimes be found in contaminated baby formula.
"Out of an abundance of caution, we have removed the remaining product from that store's shelves and we are also notifying all other stores across the country to remove product of the same lot number as well," Walmart spokesperson Dianna Gee told The Daily Record.
A corporate spokeswoman who said the affected lot number is ZP1K7G.

Wal-Mart’s move to take the formula off the shelves is voluntary, and was not requested by the federal government. The formula’s maker, Mead Johnson Nutrition, said the particular batch tested negative for bacteria before it was sent.
