House District 39: Do You Know Where To Vote?

The House District 39 Republican primary is Tuesday.


Today's the day we decide the ballot for House District 39.

The Republican primary election kicks-off at 7 a.m. when polls open in Johnston, Grimes and rural areas located in House District 39.

Incumbent Erik Helland, 32, takes on Jake Highfill, 22, at the polls for a chance to take on Kelsey Clark, the democrat challenger in November.

District 39, which includes Johnston, Grimes and a rural area west of Saylorville Lake, was recently redrawn following the 2010 census.

Polls open Tuesday at 7 a.m. and run until 9 p.m.

Is it too late to register to vote?

No. Potential voters can register at their precinct the day of the election.

What do I need to bring to register?

To register at the polls tomorrow, voters will need to provide either photo identification with their current address or one of the following documents: a government issued check or document, a residential lease, property tax statement, utility bill, bank statement or a paycheck.
