Hy-Vee Wine Event Benefits Johnston Rotary Club - And More Around Town

Hy-Vee Wine Tasting
The hosts a customer appreciation wine tasting to benefit the Johnston Rotary Club. The event, which is from 4 to 8 p.m., allows guests to sample hundreds of wines, enjoy appetizers and enter to win a $4,000 Factory Direct Appliance gift card. Admission is a $10 donation to the Rotary Club.

Dream Big with Plants
Kids who are interested in plant science are invited to the Dream Big with Plants program at . The seven-week program is for kids entering third to fifth grades. Today is week two of the class and students will examine how plants are used in everyday life. Classes meet Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. For more information visit here.

Register for Video Game Tourney
The Johnston Public Library asks interested kids in grades six and up to register for the Smash Brothers Brawl Tournament. The tournament is from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on June 8. Compete for prizes in a Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Other available games include Mario Kart, Rock Band and other 'unplugged' games.

Merle Hay Mall Madness Craft Show
More than 20 crafters and vendors will be selling a variety of spring and summer gift items. There show includes a free raffle drawing every half-hour to hour. The show is located in the lower bridge court from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
