Iowa Man Sentenced for Threatening to Kill President Obama

The man wrote a letter to Obama threatening the president's life.

An Iowa man has been sentenced to two years in prison for writing a letter to the president, threatening to kill him.

Tommy Eugene Krueger, 24, whose only address was listed as "Iowa," wrote the letter in 2010, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt.

In addition to the two years, U.S. District Judge John A. Jarvey also sentenced Krueger to three years of supervised probation.

Krueger was in a medical facility at an Iowa prison when he wrote the letter, according to the release. The U.S. Marshal Service in Alabama received the hand-written letter on Dec. 17, 2010.

The news release said Krueger was confronted and admitted to writing the letter.
