As people across the country are digesting the results of yesterday's general election, local voters can see the breakdown of votes right here in Johnston.

While , voters in Johnston overwhelmingly supported Republican candidate Mitt Romney - a continued show of support from the January Caucus in Johnston.

The results were similiar to four years ago when Johnston residents bucked the trend and supported the McCain/Palin ticket, while the whole of Polk County supported Obama/Biden.

This year, just Johnston Precinct 2 was captured by the Democratic ticket, but only by 46 votes.
