"The purpose is to provide an option for the kids, it's one of those nights kids want to be out, they'll be out regardless," said Chris Monroe, After Prom co-chair. "This is an opportunity to bring them back to school and a safe environment."
With nearly 600 students expected to attend, there will be plenty of prizes, food and fun to be had.
The main event, a hypnotist, is a staple at After Prom celebrations.
Other activities include a band performance, bingo, karaoke, casino games and much more.
Organizing every element from decorations to food and prizes takes time.
"We had our first meeting in September," Monroe said. "We met every month until just a few weeks ago then it was every week."
Keeping with the Prom theme of "Paradise," the After Prom will be an "Enchanted Island."
The event, which is fully funded by donations, is put on with a combined effort of parents and local businesses.
Parents are asked to give a donation of $35 to help with costs of the evening. If their student is brining a guest, a $10 donation is suggested.
"We solicit business, as well, " Monroe said. "Some will give us money or donate prizes. Drinks and foods are a combination of parents and businesses. Some businesses donate if we buy a certain amount first."
Prizes include laptops, TVs, DVDs, Apple products, a college dorm package and of course, cash.
"Kids really like the electronics and cash, so we try to keep it in that vain," Monroe said.
Volunteers are still being sought to complete the festivities.
