Johnston and Des Moines Metro Events, When and Where: Fall Harvest Dinner, ‘STOMP’, and Chicago

Time, dates and ticket information for what's going on in Johnston and the metro.

There’s plenty to do in Johnston in the days ahead, and if you want to travel into Des Moines and around the metro, there’s plenty to do there, too.

Make & Take Craft
- The Johnston Public Library hosts a Make & Take Craft in the children's area from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Fall Harvest Dinner - St. Paul Presbyterian Church hosts the annual Fall Harvest Dinner and Craft & Bake Sale from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy time with friends, neighbors and others while enjoying a wonderful fall meal. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children two-12 years of age and free for two and under.

State Swimming - Johnston High School swimmers will compete in the State Swimming Tournament Saturday in Marshalltown.

“Evil Dead: The Musical”: Based on the ‘80s cult classic films, this show unearths the old familiar story: boy and friends take a weekend getaway at abandoned cabin, boy expects to get lucky, boy unleashes ancient evil spirit, friends turn into demons, boy fights until dawn to survive.

Iowa Artists 2012 Print: An exhibition of recent print-based work by artists living and working in Iowa. The exhibition will be on view in the Print Gallery and Blank One Gallery.

44 Plays for 44 Presidents: A chronological, biographical survey of the lives and presidencies of each of the 44 men who have held the office so far. Their mistakes and successes are celebrated, beginning with George Washington's perfection to the grim onset of the Civil War and arriving at a polarized America.
