Johnston School Board Meeting To Be Taped

The Johnston school board meets at 6 tonight.

Tonight the board will discuss the appointment of new members to the School Improvement Advisory Committee.

The board annually appoints members to the committee. This year there are 13 new members recommended for the board.

If approved, there will be 36 members on the committee - 10 parents, nine students, eight teachers, six administrators and three board of education members.

Other agenda items include:

  • A presentation by Lindsay Swan and Jeff Kerber, representing Iowa Health Student and Employee Assistance Program.
  • A summary of the 2011-12 School Resource Officer report.
  • Discussion of adding two variable hour staff positions to the nutrition and food service department.

The Johnston school board meets at 6 p.m. in the Administrative Resource Center.
