Johnston Community Education announced a new summer program for sixth- and seventh-grade students.

Johnston Community Education recently announced the new SAS Summer Fun Camps at .
The new programs are designed for students going into sixth and seventh grades.

Each week students will pick from two enriching camps. One camp will include enriching activities such as drawing, theater and lego robotics. The other camp will focus on activity such as rock climbing, soccer, and tae-kwon-do.
Camp hours will be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. to allow for parent's work schedule. Each camp activities will be from 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from May 21 to Aug. 10.

The camp is $135 for the five day weeks and $125 for the three four day weeks.
No classes will be held on Memorial Day and July 4.
The first Fun Camp weekly registration fee is due on May 10 by 7:30 a.m. For the following weeks please register by the Wednesday before the camp starts.
There will be a limit of 25 participants per camp and a minimum of 8 participants needed in order to offer a camp.
If a camp is cancelled due to enrollment numbers, parents will be notified and an alternative activity will be offered. In addition to the camp activities, the participants will go on 3-4 field-trips each week, with one field-trip being for lunch and 1-2 swimming field-trips each week.
