Johnston Council to Hear Request for Ice Cream Truck

With spring just around the corner — and summer temperatures already here — ice cream is on the minds of Johnston City Council members.

The council will hear from Angela Miller with Sack's Great Days Ice Cream and Novelties at Monday's council meeting.

Miller will request permission to operate an ice cream truck in Johnston. 

According to the Sacks Great Days Ice Cream Facebook Page, the company is based in Ankeny and offers ice cream for no more than $2.

Other agenda items include:

• A presentation from MidAmerican Energy's Trees Please! Grant
• A public hearing and consideration of a resolution for release and vacation of permanent easement for overland foliage and stormwater easement located within Northwoods Estates development.
• Second consideration of an ordinance to establish a stormwater utility.
• First consideration of a revised ordinance on speed regulations
• A discussion of installing temporary traffic signals at the intersection of Northwest 70th Avenue and Northwest 100th Street.
