Johnston Council to Host Final Reading on Fire Code
The Johnston City Council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The third and final reading of an ordinance amending the city of Johnston's fire code is set for tonight.
The Johnston City Council will once again discuss changes to the , which includes adopting the 2009 International Fire Code.
Over the past two months, the council has heard discussion from residents and Home Builders Association members asking for changes to the code regarding sprinklers in townhouses.

Currently the city requires townhouse complexes with more than 8,000 square feet to be equipped with sprinklers. There are no planned changes to the code.
