District staff will be on hand to discuss the upcoming special vote and answer questions.

The Johnston school district announced four community forums to take place in August and September.
The forums will include information and discussion of the Sept. 11 bond referendum for the proposed new high school and other facility improvements in the district.

The special election will ask voters if they would approve $51 million in bonds for the building and furnishing of a new 10th to 12th grade high school.
Superintendent Clay Guthmiller will be on had at the forums to present information and answer questions about:

- recommendations from the district facilities committee's 18-month study
- detailed information about the proposed projects and the effect on property taxes
- how the bond proposal impacts the long-range facility plan
The forums will be:
- Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Johnston Middle School Auditorium
- Monday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. in the JMS Auditorium
- Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. in the JMS Auditorium
- Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. in the JMS Auditorium
