Johnston Farmers' Market Opens Season Today - And More Around Johnston

Johnston Farmers' Market
The Johnston Farmers' Market kicks off the 2012 season today. Stop by for fresh, local produce including fruits, veggies, organic meats and eggs, kettle corn, fudge and much more. The market is sponsored by the Johnston Lions Club with all proceeds going to the Residential Tree Project. The market is every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. until Oct. 2 in the parking lot.

Register for Star Wars Program
Register today for the MuVChat: Star Wars program to be held on May 29 at the . Teens are invited to watch Star Wars, and MuVChat - a program which allows you to text your comments to the screen during the movie. Pizza and Star Wars-themed snacks will be provided. The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. May 29.

Register for Storytime
Register for the summer session of storytime at the Johnston Public Library today. Storytime is for children ages 3 to 6 and is held at 10:30 a.m. Monday and 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesdays. The new session begins June 5.

JHS Baseball Opening Night
The baseball team hosts opening night and will recognize Johnston Little League teams. Little League players wearing their jersey or uniform will be admitted free. They will have the chance for autographed baseballs, batting tokens, varsity team shirts, hats and more.
Between the junior varsity and varsity games the 2008 Junior League World Series team will be recognized. The junior varsity game begin at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by the varsity.
