Johnston Fire Station Annex Site Plan on City Council Agenda

The Johnston City Council meets at 6 p.m. for a work session and at 7 p.m. for a regular meeting at city hall.

Details on a second fire station in Johnston will be known after tonight's Johnston City Council meeting.

The council will consider the site plan for the second fire station to be built near the intersetion of 62nd Avenue and Northwest 100th Street.

The was approved as part of a $14 million public safety referendum passed in August 2011.

The annex is expected to be finished in the fall of 2012.

It will features two pull-through bays, bunks, meeting rooms, a kitchen and day space.
