Johnston Green Days: Come for Rib Night, Stay for Carnival, Bands, Parade and More
The annual summer festival kicks off Thursday with a Regional Business After Hours and Rib Cookoff.

For those folks enjoying the food, games and music that makes up Johnston Green Days, it's a weekend of good times.
But for the volunteers who organize the festival, lots of work precedes the fun.
Darlys Purdy is this year's event chairwoman, and it's her second year involved in Green Days. She answered a few questions about the event, now in its 18th year, for Johnston Patch.
