Johnston Library Offers New Online Music Service
Library members now have access to more than 3 million songs through the new program.

The library recently joined the Library Ideas network of public library websites that offer access to more than 3 million songs.
Freegal is a new music service that allows the library to increase the size and diversity of its music collection by offering access to more than 10,000 music labels from 65 countries.

Under the agreement, registered cardholders of the library can download a limited number of Freegal Music tracks in the MP3 format at no direct cost via the library's website.
“We are pleased to offer a service like this that delivers great music, provides compatibility with a number of devices, and is easy to use," said Willona Goers, library director. "We believe this will be incredibly popular with our library users and will be yet another reason for Johnston residents to use their local library.”

Freegal Music Service also offers a free mobile app for registered cardholders of subscribing libraries through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
