The Friends of Johnston ELP hosts "The Benefits of Being in ELP Activities" on April 11.

The special event features current Miss Iowa and Johnston High School graduate Jessica Pray and her mother, Rita.

Jessica participated in many ELP activities, including History Day and Mock Trial. She will speak about how participation contributed to her success.

Rita Pray is a former JELP president and will provide a parent's perspective on ELP programs.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on April 11 at .
