Mobile Mayor
Join Johnston Mayor Paula Dierenfeld on Sunday at the Johnston Public Library.
Dierenfeld invites residents to stop by for a chat, to talk about issues, voice concerns and ask questions.
Sunday's Mobile Mayor is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Boys' State Swim Meet
Planning to cheer on the Johnston Dragons boys' swimmers at the state meet Saturday?
Tickets are available for $8 at Summit Middle School from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Johnston swimmers will have teams competing in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay.
Individual Qualifiers:
Adam Rieck and Alex Clark will compete in the 200 freestyle
Justin Winnett will compete in the 200 individual medley
Brian Ross, Tyson Wieland and Dylan Johnston will compete in the 50 freestyle
Reed Molander will compete in the 100 butterfly
Tyson Wieland, Tyler Cracraft and Adam Rieck will compete in the 100 freestyle
Alex Clark will compete in the 500 freestyle
Tyler Cracraft and Ross Winget will compete in the 100 backstroke
Justin Winnett and Cody Carlson will compete in the 100 breaststroke
The state meet begins at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Marshalltown YMCA.
Johnston Community Foundation Extends Nomination Deadline
Do you know a Johnston school district community member, student or educator who exemplifies what it means to be a Dragon?
The Johnston Community School Foundation is seeking nominations for its annual Hall of Fame Awards.
Each year the foundation honors Hall of Fame Alumni and Educators, and recognizes awards for Outstanding Students, Outstanding Educators and a Friend of the District. The awards will be presented at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet on April 13.
You can:
- Nominate a Johnston alumnus or former staff member to be inducted into the hall of fame.
- Nominate a current Johnston educator or an outstanding Johnston High School junior or senior.
- Nominate a Johnston community member to be honored as a Friend of the District.
Nominations are due Feb. 15 and are available online.
The Johnston Community School Foundation is a non-profit and non-government organization promoting educational excellence for students.
Johnston's Got Talent
The Johnston's Got Talent event has been rescheduled for Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Johnston Middle School Auditorium.
Come check out all the talent our school district has! All previously scheduled acts will still be performing, as well as the Johnston show choirs, Innovation and Synergy.
Perviously purchased tickets will be honored. If you cannot make the new show date and would like a refund, you may do so by visiting the Johnston High School accounting office.
