Johnston News You Need: Stakeholders Group, Seminar Canceled and Dean's Lists

The needs people to assist in the development and design of the proposed building.

FRK/Perkins & Will Architects will lead a series of workshops with a representative group of district stakeholders over the next several months.

The meetings are designed to receive feedback from district staff and patrons regarding educational programming for the proposed new high school, as well as the overall design of the facility.

The meeting will include a number of reports about schools for the 21st century and implication for teaching, learning and building design.

The first meetings will be on Feb. 22 and 23.

Anyone interested in participating in this process should contact Cindy Taylor at 278-0470 at the district office.

Recruiting Seminar Canceled
The College Recruiting Seminar for Thursday has been canceled.

The seminar was intended to help parents have a better understanding of the recruiting process of college athletics and roles in the process.

No information on rescheduling the event was available.

Business After Hours Canceled
The 's Business After Hours Event for Feb. 2 has been canceled.

Business After Hours was scheduled for 5 p.m. at BlueStone Engineering.

The event will be rescheduled for a later date.

Honor Rolls
Kyle Soyer, a junior at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., was named to the fall term Dean's List. Soyer is studying multimedia journalism and mass communications. 

Several Johnston students attending  Bethel University were named to the dean's list for the winter 2011 semester.

Jacob Clabaugh, a junior, is the son of Gerd and Jenelle Clabaugh.

Rachel Lang, a senior, is the daughter of Mark and Rebecca Lang.

Ashley Quick, a sophomore, is the daughter of Jerry and Cindy Quick.

Two Johnston students were named to the dean's list at DePaul University. Danielle Prebeck and Caleb Wagner both earned a grade point average above a 3.0 on a four point scale.
