The 24/7 club is also offering 33 percent off all personal training sessions.
"We might be the only 24/7 club that offers personal training and classes now," Davis said.
With the discount for the new year, Davis said memberships can be as low as $19.99, while personal training starts at $25.
Another option when it comes to jump-starting a healthier version of yourself is .
Farrell's employs an intensive 10-week program comprised of kickboxing and resistance band training.
Julia Henning, instructor at the Johnston location, said the next session begins on Jan. 7.
"They can go online and enroll or they can come in the store and sign up," she said.
The $389 program includes a 45-minute class six days a week, a manual, gloves and wraps, Henning said.
Traffic at Farrell's in Johnston is pretty steady throughout the year, but there is a slight uptick after New Years.
Class times at Farrell's are designed to accommodate most schedules. Classes are at 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 3:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m., and 5:45 p.m. A Fit Start Program, for people who may need a little extra time meets at 7 p.m., Henning said.
The Johnston Kosama offers an eight-week program for $349. Another gym opportunity can be found at .
Joining a gym or bodyshaping program is just half the battle. Sticking with the program is the biggest challenge.
"The most important thing is staying, continuing to do it by being involved in something," said Davis, of Snap Fitness. "People stop using the club or not doing exercise because they are not involved."
Offering classes and personal training is how Snap Fitness plans to keep customers.
"Instead of just saying 'here's your month's membership,' we are trying to get them involved," he said. "People stay with it and we train them longer, we find that it's because they are involved, they like to meet their instructor and go over stuff every once in a while."
Henning said the best way to start your resolution is to just get out.
"Just get in there and do something," she said. "Just come in and ask questions, look around and get started on something."
