Johnston PD Host Ammunition Drop-off June 16
Safely dispose of unwanted ammunition from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Johnston Police Department.

In our efforts to maintain safety within our community the Johnston Police Department will be hosting a collection day for unwanted or expired ammunition on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 11:30am-2:00pm at the located at 6221 Merle Hay Road.
On the collection day Johnston residents can drop off any amount of unwanted ammunition for free with no questions asked.
Improper disposal of ammunition has potential environmental, health, and safety risks.

This event will make it easy for residents to safely remove potentially dangerous ammunition from their homes so that it can be safely disposed of.
The proper disposal of old or unwanted ammunition can save lives by preventing it from landing in the hands of young children, and can also help protect the environment by keeping lead and other contaminants from seeping into the groundwater.
