Johnston Police Blotter: Attempted Burglary, Vehicle Theft and Driving Infractions

The Johnston Police Department had a busy weekend tracking down a suspect who escaped custody.

Nov. 13
Officers reported to an argument between a husband and wife in the 6200 block of Meadow Crest Drive. No charges were filed.

Mark Dungan, 52, was charged with operating while intoxicated and speeding in the 2200 block of East First Street.

Nov. 12
Dustin Thomas, 23, was charged with operating while intoxicated and driving without a valid driver's license in the area of Northwest 62nd Avenue and Northwest Beaver Drive.

David Cavin, 36, was charged with operating without registration and driving with a suspended license in the area of Northwest 86th Street and Birchwood Court.

A 16-year-old male was charged with theft and minor in possession of alcohol from the Kum & Go store at 5800 Northglenn Drive.

Officers arrested a 13-year-old girl on an outstanding Des Moines warrant in the 4600 block of Northwest 62nd Avenue.

Officers apprehended a suspect in a vehicle theft and suspected burglary in Illinois. Conor Jack Forrest, 19, was charged with motor vehicle theft and false use of credit cards and ATM cards. Officers first apprehended Forrest for questioning on Nov. 11. He then escaped through a back door at the police station.

Nov. 11
Gary Loomis Jr. was arrested on an outstanding Des Moines warrant in the 4800 block of Northwest 62nd Avenue.

Tylor Charlet, 18, was arrested on narcotics possession and drug paraphernalia charges in the 700 block of Northeast 52nd Avenue in Saylor Township.

A 74-year-old man reported someone had pushed over a horse statue on his vacant property in the 5200 block of Merle Hay Road.

AΒ  46-year-old woman reported her vehicle stolen from her parking lot in the 4700 block of Northwest 62nd Avenue.

Nov. 10
Officers responded to an attempted burglary by forced entry in the 9100 block of Northwest 72nd Circle. The suspect left before officers arrived.

A 19-year-old male reported an unauthorized cash withdrawal from an ATM and attempted purchase with his debit card.

Nov. 7
Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 8900 block of Long Meadow Drive.
