Johnston Police Blotter: Fraud, Open Container Charges

The Johnston Police Department responded to several calls so far this week.

Nov. 29
An 80-year-old woman reported a man contacted her claiming to be her grandson needing money though Western Union in the 6200 block of Merle Hay Road. Police determined it was a scam.

Nov. 28
A 53-year-old woman reported receiving harassing phone calls and text messages in the 9900 block of Cheshire Lane.

Officers responded to a report of two females arguing in the 6000 block of Glenn Circle.

A 74-year-old man reported someone had thrown a brick through a window at his rental property in the 5300 block of Northwest 55th Avenue.

Nov. 27
Officers responded to an argument between a customer and an employee at the McDonald's located at 5494 N.W. 86th St.

Nov. 25
Irma Zimic, 19, was charged with interference with official acts and verbal domestic assault in the 6200 block of Merle Hay Road.

A female juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and speeding in the 6100 block of Northwest Beaver Drive.

A 24-year-old man reported both his license plates were stolen from his truck in the 10500 block of Providence Drive.

Nov. 23
A male juvenile was charged with underage possession of alcohol in the 6400 block of Northwest 86th Street.

A 40-year-old woman reported a possible scam involving a listing for a nanny on Craigslist.

Jessica Jacobson, 27, was cited for domestic assault with minor injury in the 6900 block of Lewis Carroll Court.

Alexander Cornwell, 21, Aaron Stoner, 21, and Dylan Thorson, 19, were charged with open container after a traffic stop in the 6200 block of Merle Hay Drive. Thorson was also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

Nov. 18
A 50-year-old woman reported being bitten by a newly purchased family dog in the 6000 block of Pine Ridge Street.

A 26-year-old woman reported receiving harrassing phone calls from someone claiming to be in Boston who told her she had fraud charges pending in Boston.
