Johnston Police Blotter: School Playground Vandalized, Phone Scam

The Johnston Police Department investigated a number of calls from Jan. 23 to Jan. 30. Take a look at the reports.

Jan. 30
Officers respond to a call of a runaway in the 6200 block of Merle Hay Road.

A 65-year-old man reported his propane tank and rotisserie were stolen from his porch in the the 5600 block of Northglenn Drive.

A 22-year-old man reported damage to the drivers side of this vehicle in the 6200 block of Merle Hay Road.

Jan. 29
A 33-year-old man reported items were stolen from his garage in the 4900 block of Northwest 55th Avenue.

Officers were called to a dispute between adult family members in the 10100 block of Catalina Drive.

Walther Ochoa, 30, was charged with driving while license suspended in the 5400 block of Merle Hay Road.Β 

Officers responded to the 5700 block of Merle Hay Road in regards to an assault during a prearranged child visitation.Β 

Jan 27.
Officers took a report of assault when a boy hit another boy at Johnston Middle School.Β 

Beaver Creek Elementary School employees reported graffiti on the asphalt at the playground.

John Demaranville, 18, Ross Schick, 22, and Drew Paul, 19, were charged with trespassing at vacant buildings in the 5000 block of Merle Hay Road.

Jan. 26
A girl reported being harassed by a make student at Johnston High School.

Jan. 25
Officers responded to a call in reference to a phone scam. The 70-year-old victim reported the caller wanted her to send money to her grandson supposedly in jail.

Jan. 23
Officers responded to a verbal dispute between a mother and her juvenile son in the 6100 block of Chapel Ridge Way.

Elizabeth Stone, 31, was charged with possession of meth, drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended in the 5700 block of Meredith Drive.
