Johnston Police Blotter: Theft, Theft and More Theft

The Johnston Police Department responded to a number of calls this week, including fraud and OWI. Mostly, though, they handled thefts.

Oct. 6

New Path Sleep Solutions reported the theft of a whole body robotic massage chair from the back of a pickup truck in the 5400 block of Merle Hay Road.

A UPS driver reported dogs running at large on the road near the 6600 block of Eagle Ridge Drive.

Oct. 4
Mary Middleton, 44, was charged with operating while intoxicated and drug possession near the intersection of Merle Hay Road and Interstate 35.

A 49-year-old man reported an emerald and diamond ring was stolen in the 6100 block of Brett Ashley Place.

Oct. 3
A 56-year-old man reported money stolen from his wallet, which was in his truck which it was parked in his open garage in the 8700 block of Daybreak Road.

Oct. 2
A traffic stop in the 5700 block of Merle Hay Road resulted in the recovery of a juvenile runaway.

A 64-year-old woman reported medication and gold coins were taken from her home in the 10100 block of Catalina Drive.

A 21-year-old woman reported her phone was missing from the Dahl's store on 86th Street. The victim said she left her phone at the store, store employees said they had it for her, but when she arrived to retrieve the phone it was missing.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested for burglary, attempted burglary and interference with official acts in the 8700 block of Friestad Court.

Oct. 1
Jason Kane, 18, was charged with public intoxication in the 9100 block of Cowden Drive.

A 23-year-old man was charged with fifth-degree theft for failing to pay $25 worth of gas from the Kum & Go at 6130 86th St.

Timothy Behrends Spencer, 29, was charged with domestic assault causing injury and false imprisonment.

Sept. 30
A 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl were charged with simulated public intoxication at Johnston High School after taking another person's prescription drugs.

A 52-year-old woman reported receiving harassing emails in the 7000 block of Tenacity Lane.

Officers responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 6500 block of Northwest 62nd Avenue. The 53-year-old victim reported her car was scratched with a key during a high school football game.

A green wagon was stolen from the farmers market at Johnston City Hall, 6221 Merle Hay Road.

Marcia Wichmann, 63, was charged with simple domestic abuse at a residence in the 6100 block of Crescent Chase.

Sept. 27
Officers responded to the theft of license plates in the 6000 block of Greendale Circle.

Sept. 26
Jason Peterson, 28, was arrested for fifth-degree theft after a 66-year-old woman reported items were stolen from her purse at a wedding reception in the 8700 block of Stonepointe Lane.

Sept. 25
Brian Manning, 32, was charged operating while intoxicated and property damage on Northwest Beaver Drive.

The owner of The Boat House on Northwest Beaver Drive reported a pine tree was destroyed.

Sept. 24
Saquib Ali, 20, was charged with operating while intoxicated along Merle Hay Road.

Nataliya Khashimova, 19, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia along Merle Hay Road.

Sept. 23
Officers responded to a report of harassment and fraudulent practice. A person claiming to be from the Customs Service called a woman and said they had a check for $800,000 for the Johnston resident. The caller continued to harass the victim after she hung up.

A 16-year-old girl reported her iTouch was stolen during a pep assembly at Johnston High School.

An 80-year-old woman reported a caller tried to obtain her Medicare and bank information.

Sept. 22
Officers responded to a report of theft from a locker room at Johnston High School. Missing items included an iTouch.

Officers responded to a report of theft from an apartment on Cresent Chase. A 25-year-old man reported a package was delivered, then stolen from his residence.

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with fourth-degree theft of a phone from Johnston High School.

A 16-year-old female was charged with the fourth-degree theft of two phones from Johnston High School.
