Johnston Police Blotter: Thefts at Schools, Stores, Plus Hit and Run Accidents
The Johnston Police Department responded to a number of calls between Oct. 6 and Oct. 14, several included thefts and two hit and run accidents.

Oct. 14
Officials at Summit Middle School, 9500 Windsor Parkway, reported between $501 and $1,000 was stolen from an office. No forced entry was found.
Oct. 13
A 16-year-old boy was charged with food theft from Casey's General Store, 6417 Northglenn Drive.
Employees at Johnston High School reported a man had contacted female students via Facebook portraying himself as a movie producer and asking inappropriate questions.
Oct. 12
Jodi Harris, 35, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and turned over to the Des Moines Police Department in the area of Merle Hay Road and Winwood Drive.
A 39-year-old man reported a man trespassing in his open garage in the 9900 block of Ashton Drive. No charges were filed.
A 42-year-old man reported his vehicle was struck by a blue truck while parked. The blue truck left the scene in the 5500 block of Merle Hay Road.
Oct. 11
A juvenile reported receiving harassing phone calls from a girl in the 6200 block of Merle Hay Road.
The mother of a boy reported her son was assaulted by an 11-year-old boy. No charges were filed.
Oct. 9
Officers took a report of a juvenile being bullied by another juvenile in the 6700 block of Gables Way.
A 19-year-old was charged with the theft of gas from Kum & Go, 6130 N.W. 86th St.
Joshua Heiselman, 29, was arrested for driving while suspended and no insurance in the area of Meredith Drive and Merle Hay Road.
Oct. 8
A 45-year-old woman reported three juveniles vandalized her residence and vehicle with eggs and other items in the area of Chatham Circle and Foxboro Road. The juveniles were located, parents notified and returned to the scene to clean up. No charges have been filed.
A 35-year-old female reported harassing phone calls from her 35-year-old ex.
Oct. 7
Employees with Youth Homes of Mid America reported a runaway from the facility.
A 14-year-old boy reported cash and an iPod Touch were stolen from his locker at Johnston High School.
Christopher Baker, 25, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the 6100 block of Glenn Circle.
Oct. 6
Nicholas Georgick, 18, was arrested for domestic assault in the 6000 block of Glenn Circle.
A 39-year-old female reported a hit and run accident while her car was parked in the 10500 block of Beaverbrooke Boulevard. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
