Johnston Police Warn Residents to be Skeptical of Unsolicited Emails
The Johnston Police Department sent an e-alert after a resident reported a suspicious email.

The Johnston Police Department is warning residents to be skeptical of unsolicited emails.
The warning came after a resident reported receiving, on Oct. 23, an unsolicited email (to the right) in reference to a felon relocating nearby.
The police department has no knowledge or involvement in the described email and cannot vouch for the validity of its content, a department e-alert said.

"The Johnston Police Department encourages residents to be very skeptical of any unsolicited emails that you receive that originate from an unknown source and direct you to provide information and/or click on a link that could potentially jeopardize the safety and security or your computer," the release said.
